Victor is Managing Partner of Caudex Asia and is responsible for management of the firm and long-term strategy. He has 20 years’ experience with acquisitions and investments in Asia, initially as a financial and legal adviser, and subsequently as a principal. He was previously an investment banker with Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette and UBS Warburg based in Hong Kong where he advised companies throughout Asia on mergers & acquisitions and capital market offerings (high yield debt, buyouts, initial public offerings, depositary receipts, secondary offerings). Victor has also served as the CFO and subsequently CEO of Asia Capacity Exchange on behalf of its investors, viz. Whitney & Co and Partners-e venture firm, where he was a Partner. He started his career as a corporate lawyer at Shearn Delamore & Co in Kuala Lumpur, where he worked on mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, investor protection arrangements (control/non-control), securities issuances (equity, equity-linked, options, warrants), private placements and IPOs. He trained at Gray’s Inn, London as a pupil-Barrister in the chambers of Richard McManus QC, specialising in administrative and commercial law.
He has an LLM from Cambridge University and a BA in Law from Guildhall University. He is speaks at conferences globally relating to investment in the food and agriculture sector. Victor is conversant in English, Chinese and Malay/Bahasa Indonesia.
